Custom blade builds are the heart of Frontiersmen Gear. We focus on providing a completely custom build process so every blade is entirely built to suit you, the customer. Making your dream blade come to life is our top priority.
Our standard line of blade shapes have been designed to cover everything an outdoorsman, hunter, chef or military members need. If you do not see a shape that interests you just select the Custom Blade Shape option and we are happy to hand sketch a blade shape to your liking.
We currently offer two blade finishes: Mirror polished and a Hand rubbed satin finish. Every blade shape is available with or without a bolster (finger guard). Blade hardware is available in stainless steel, copper and brass.
Handles are where a blade comes to life and where you can get creative with your custom build. We carry a large variety of materials from an ultra durable synthetic G10, stabilized exotic wood from around the world, to Yukon Dall sheep horn and Siberian Mammoth Ivory. Current stock of the chosen material will be provided during the quote process so you can pick the exact block of wood or section of horn you would like.
Split handles are a great way to show off different handle materials or to add contrast in grain or color. Handle liners are available in a range of colors and required for split handle builds. We are able to stack liners or use multiple different colors for a handle split.
Blade prices include a custom leather sheath. All of our sheathes are hand stitched, hand stamped and built with our Friction Lock design to ensure your blade never leaves the sheath unless you want it to. We currently offer three different sheath options: The Frontier sheath which is a standard folded leather sheath with a 2″ belt loop. The Guide sheath is a folded leather sheath with a shortened shoulder and no belt loop to cut as much weight as possible while still providing protection for you and your knife. Lastly, the Cowboy sheath which is an angled double belt loop leather sheath designed to never interfere whether you are taking on daily camp chores or hiking with a heavy pack.
Blade engraving and artistic leather work is available to make a custom blade build even more special.
Custom blade shapes are subject to a design and development fee.
